RNW welcomes the appointment of Travis Kavulla as Administrator and CEO of the Bonneville Power Administration. 

Kavulla has extensive experience in the Northwest and brings deep expertise in utility regulation, transmission planning, and western energy markets to the role. A former chair of the Montana Public Service Commission, he is a nationally recognized expert on competitive wholesale markets and regional transmission planning, and has served as President of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners and as a member of the Western Energy Imbalance Market Governing Body. He has written extensively on interconnection reforms and data center load integration — issues central to BPA's current work. 

Given historical transmission bottlenecks that have long impacted the region, RNW is eager to collaborate with Kavulla to tackle these long-standing infrastructure challenges. At a time when BPA’s role is more vital than ever to ensure economic resilience and supporting thriving communities, RNW stands ready to work alongside Travis and the entire BPA team to build a stronger, more reliable grid for the future.
