Description:

Largest PV system in the NW until Pepsi came on-line Dec 04. 616 single crystal modules, totaling 114 KW, span the entire length and width of the warehouse, where the packaging and shipping of Kettle Chips takes place. The modules are angled at 20 degrees on anodized aluminum racks mounted on special curbs. This innovative design was the result of a structural engineering analysis of the warehouse's flat roof. Due to the large power usage at this facility, the PV system is considered a load reduction strategy, since virtually all the power produced on the rooftop is used directly by the facility, with little or no power flowing back to the utility. Kettle Foods was the first business in Oregon to install over 100 KW of PV panels on one site.
