Description:

Avangrid's 400MW Golden Hills Wind Project is to consist of 125 turbines located immediately west of Wasco in Sherman County, OR.

Location of Avangrid's 400MW Golden Hills Wind Project, as determined from the Oregon EFSC filing.

Golden Hills Wind was originally approved for 267 turbines and 400MW by BP Alternative Energy. The original certificate approved for a completion date of 12/31/14. The certificate was amened twice, after which ownership was shifted to Orion Renewable Energy Group, and the construction start and completion dates were extended out to 6/18/16 and 6/18/19 respectively. Approval of Amendment #2 was given on 1/30/15. Orion Renewable Energy Group then sold the project to Avangrid. (Sale closed Sept 11, 2017.)

On 12/17/15, Orion filed Request for Amendment #3 to reduce the number of turbines from 267 turbines to 125 turbines, remove 2,800 acres from the site boundary, and extend the construction start and completion dates to 6/18/18 and 6/18/21 respoectively. The Council approved the Final Order on Amendment No. 3 in February 2017.
