Bonneville Environmental Foundation and Its Green Power Partners Receive National Recognition for Their Marketing Leadership

Sponsored by the EPA, DOE and CRS, Awards Honor Organizations and People That Significantly Advance Development of the Green Power Market

Portland, OR - The Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) announced today that the recent Western Washington Green Power Campaign is being honored with a Green Power Leadership Award for its success in promoting awareness of green power in the region and encouraging new customers to enroll in green power programs offered by their utilities. In addition, BEF customer and soy products manufacturer Silk® earned its own Leadership Award for promoting the visibility of renewable power options through a wide-ranging educational campaign. Rob Harmon, vice president of renewable energy programs for BEF, is also being honored for his commitment to the creation, development and growth of the Green Tag market.

The annual Green Power Leadership Awards ceremony, held in Albany, New York this year in conjunction with the National Green Power Marketing Conference, recognizes outstanding commitments and achievements by individuals, companies and organizations in the green power marketplace. The awards are sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and the Center for Resource Solutions (CRS).
"The exceptional efforts of renewable energy marketers, purchasers and organizations, such as BEF and its customers, continue to develop the market for renewable energy and produce results worthy of national recognition," said Jan Hamrin, Executive Director of CRS. "Their contributions through innovative marketing and outreach lead to the green power transactions that stimulate renewable energy generation, grow the economy, and help clean our air."
