Signing up for green power is easy for most utility customers in the Northwest. Basic descriptions of Washington utility green power programs are listed here. "Buck-a-Block" program supports wind power. Program costs $1 per 300 kWh block.
"Green Power" program supports landfill gas and wind energy. Cost is $0.06/kWh with a minimum of $1.00 for residential customers and $10.00 for commercial customers.
"Sustainable, Natural, Alternative Power" (SNAP) program supports locally generated solar or wind power. Program is based on voluntary contributions that range between $2.50 and $50 per month
The program supports landfill gas from Klickitat landfill gas facility. Customers sign up to purchase 100% of their energy at 6.9 cents/kWh (a 0.7 cent/kWh premium above the cost of the utility's standard electricity rate).
"Green Lights" program supports variety of renewable resources. $1.00 per 100 kWh block.
"Renewable Resource Energy" program supports wind and solar power. $2.00 per block of 100 kWh.

"Alternative Energy Resources Program" supports qualified alternative energy resources. Cost is $2.00 per block of 100 kWh (available in any increments).

"Green Power Program" supports Nine Canyon wind power. Cost is $3.00 per block of 100 kWh.

This program supports new wind power from the Nine Canyon Wind Project. Customers pay $2.00/month for each 100 kWh block.
The "Mason Evergreen Power" program supports new wind power from the Nine Canyon Wind Project. Customers pay $1.00/month for each 100 kWh block, or 1 cent per kwh for a 100% option.

"MORE" program supports a variety of local renewable energy projects. Cost is $4.00 per 100 kWh block, or $0.04 premium per kWh for all energy usage.

Program supports wind, solar geothermal and small hydro. Cost is $1.05 per 100 kWh block.

Pacific Power (Washington Customers)
Pacific Power’s Blue SkySM renewable energy program offers Washington residential and non-residential customers the opportunity to support renewable energy through the Block program

Blue Sky customers not only support renewable energy production from newly developed facilities in the Western region, but also help make smaller-scale renewable energy projects possible in the communities we serve beyond Pacific Power’s  investments.  

  • Blue Sky Block lets you support Green-e Energy Certified Western region wind resources in 100 kilowatt-hour (kwh) increments called blocks for an additional fixed cost of $1.95 per block per month. You also help to build smaller scale community-based renewable energy projects. You can buy as many blocks as you'd like, allowing you to green a portion or all your energy use.
  • Blue Sky QS is a program for businesses that want to make large wind energy purchases at a reduced cost. With Blue Sky QS, you get a "Quantity Savings" for buying at least 101 blocks of Blue Sky per month for a period of 12 months (1,212 blocks). The cost starts at $1.94 per 100 kilowatt-hours and is based on a sliding scale. The more you buy, the less the per unit (block) cost.

"Green by Choice" program supports wind and low-impact hydropower. Customers pay $2.80/month for each 100 kWh block.

Puget Sound Energy's "Green Power Program" supports the development of wind, biomass and solar projects in the Pacific Northwest. Cost is $2.00 per block of 160 kwh, with a 2 block/$4.00 minimum. (Can purchase additional blocks in 160 kwh increments.) Customers can also choose the 100 percent option that adjusts their green power purchase each month to cover all of their electric usage.
"Green Up! " program supports a variety of renewable resources including Stateline Wind Project and other local projects. Monthly cost for residential customersis $3 for 25%, $6 for 50% or $12 for 100%. Commercial customers can customize their premium based on annual usage.
"Planet Power" contribution program supports supports local, small-scale solar demonstration projects on buildings such as schools, libraries, city halls, and other community sites. ontributions to Planet Power can be made in any amount on a one-time basis or every month. This cost is in addition to your normal electric bill. There’s no maximum limit to the amount a customer contributes (minimum limits: $3 per month or $15 one-time). You can sign up or discontinue at any time. 

"Green Blocks" program supports wind power. $3.00 per 150 kwh block.
"EverGreen Options" program supports wind and low-impact hydropower. Customers can sign up for 250 kWh equivalent blocks at a monthly cost of $3 per block. There is also an option to offset a percentage of your electric use instead of purchasing blocks of credits.
